Tiernan wanted a real Chameleon for his birthday, but that wasn't really an option, so I gave him the next best thing. A chameleon cake, of course! I made a white chocolate cake and colored the batter green, blue and yellow and then swirled it just a little bit in the pan before baking. Then came the fun part - decorating! It was kind of a pain to carve a cake that isn't dense like a pound cake and the mouth looks ridiculous because it started to cave in (it's supposed to be open) and I was a little worried that it wouldn't look very good but in the end I was pleased and T loved it. :)

Very cool. I'd say it's much better than the real thing! ;) At first I thought the little circles were something like necco wafers, but upon closer inspection I think they're fondant! You're a trooper!
ReplyDeleteSuper Cute! I'm sure T loved it :D
ReplyDeleteHa ha! That's funny, because as I was cutting out all of the circles, I thought of Necco wafers, too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are truly amazing, Becky. Your cakes look incredible and sound absolutely delicious!
